This is such a great story and really why I created The Indie Place. I wanted to share talent with people who may otherwise never hear, see, or read what these great people create because they don’t “fit” the mold.
Rachel Potter is a great example of this. Yes, she may have found some success as a musical theatre performer, however she is truly Indie in the sense of becoming a Country Singer. In her audition for The X Factor she mentions that the reason why she decided to go on the show was she was 29 and was having a hard time competing with the “younger” crowd.
She showed the judges, the local audience and the rest of the world that you don’t have to fit a mold. Good for you Rachel, hope to see more from you soon!
Whatever you do, follow your dreams and passion and create. Embrace and be proud to be Indie and get your art out there!
