Cookies

The Indie Place only uses cookies that are needed to run the site. There are no analytics or advertising cookies, and nothing to turn off.

A cookie is a small file the browser stores for this website. We set two:

  • Session (the-indie-place-session) — keeps you signed in while you use your Place. It is HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax.
  • CSRF protection (XSRF-TOKEN) — stops other sites from submitting forms as you.

If you tick Remember me on the sign-in page, the session lasts longer so you do not have to log in every time.

These are strictly necessary for the service you asked for (signing in and using your Place). Public pages also receive a session cookie because the same app serves the product site, login, and Public Places.

The short cookies notice at the bottom of the page remembers that you dismissed it in this browser only. That uses local storage, not a cookie, so you will not see the notice again on this device unless you clear site data.
